18 holes par 72 (5846 yards)
Following a major $20 million transformation, the championship course at Sembawang Country Club stretches to just under 6,500 yards and is meticulously maintained to elite standards. Affectionately known by locals as the "Commando Course," the layout pays homage to its original designers—the British Army's 42 Commando Royal Marines—and is famous for its extreme elevation changes.
Sembawang is widely regarded as an intense physical workout, challenging even the fittest of players.
The Terrain: The routing combines heavily rolling hills with incredibly tight, narrow holes.
The Hazards: Errant shots are severely punished, with most fairways bordered by dense, thick jungle, water hazards, or the high-security perimeter of the neighboring Singapore Air Force base.
The Back Nine: After a demanding front nine, the back nine ramps up the difficulty even further, guiding players through heavily undulating terrain and the course's most visually stunning stretch of holes.
Preparation Tip: There are no caddies available at Sembawang. Combined with the region's intense, staggering humidity, golfers should prepare for a grueling, highly physical day on the fairways.
