Course History

Opening its fairways in 1996, Cambodia Golf & Country Club holds the proud title of being the very first international-standard golf course built in the Kingdom of Cambodia. Affectionately called the "First Lady" of Cambodian golf, this historic venue laid the foundation for the sport's development in the country, offering a nostalgic and authentic playing experience that contrasts beautifully with newer modern resorts.

Natural Layout

The 18-hole parkland layout blends seamlessly into the flat, rural Cambodian countryside. The fairways are heavily lined with local vegetation, including native sugar palms, abundant fruit trees, and colorful evergreen bougainvillea. While the outer holes feel open, the inner loops narrow down significantly, requiring accurate driving to avoid the dense treelines and natural water hazards.

Strategic Elements

The course offers a fair and pleasant challenge for golfers of all abilities. The front nine features wide, rolling fairways that encourage confident drives, though strategically placed bunkers guard the landing zones. The back nine introduces tighter fairways and more frequent water hazards, demanding precise iron placement and cautious course management to score well on the undulating greens.

Charming Infrastructure

The resort features a distinctive Western-meets-Asian architecture, highlighted by a large French-style clubhouse. The facility is equipped with cozy locker rooms, a pro shop for essential gear, and a veranda restaurant serving authentic Khmer dishes alongside Taiwanese and Western favorites. Additional country club amenities include a driving range, tennis courts, and a large swimming pool.

Authentic Atmosphere

What sets Cambodia Golf & Country Club apart is its relaxed, unhurried atmosphere and rich cultural feel. The long-serving local caddies are highly experienced, friendly, and deeply familiar with every break on the mature greens. It remains a classic, highly recommended stop for players looking to experience the roots of golf during their Phnom Penh tour.
