Course Overview

The world-class, P + Z Development-designed Royal Cambodia Phnom Penh Golf Club is widely acclaimed as one of the most historic and premier golf courses in Cambodia. Established as only the second golf course to open in the Kingdom, the course brings Cambodia squarely onto the international golf destination map, offering a traditional parkland playing experience for golf travelers looking for a round close to the capital.

Impeccable Conditioning

Maintained to the high international standards expected of a classic layout, the tees, fairways, and greens are kept in excellent condition. The integration of native grasses alongside mature coconut palms ensures consistent playing surfaces year-round while preserving the beautiful, natural environment of the Cambodian countryside.

The Phnom Penh layout serves as a fair but engaging test of golf, demanding thoughtful strategy and smart shot placement on every single hole. While the strategically located sand bunkers and extensive wetland hazards are tricky, they are clearly visible from each tee box. The greens feature plenty of subtle undulations, rewarding and encouraging a diverse variety of approach shots. Daily pin positions can moderate the difficulty of each hole—ranging from friendly to highly challenging—while various tee box locations allow both low and mid-handicappers to choose the ideal course length for their game.

The Thrilling Final Three

The final three holes make up some of the most challenging, dramatic, and fun closing stretches on the entire course:

• Hole 16 (Par 5 - 545 Yards): A true test of accuracy that plays along natural wetlands. The distinct angle of the fairway, combined with flanking sand traps guarding the landing zones, poses a massive challenge for those attempting to get their approach shots close. A cautious second-shot lay-up away from the hazards sets up a demanding pitch onto a large green.
• Hole 17 (Par 3): A long par 3 that plays directly to a green heavily guarded by sand bunkers. The back pin locations, in particular, demand an exceptionally well-struck and accurate tee shot to avoid dropping into the deep greenside hazards.
• Hole 18 (Par 4 - 430 Yards): A spectacular finishing hole and a true signature design that guarantees dramatic finishes. The layout presents a sharp 90-degree dogleg where water cuts across the fairway, heavily impacting both the tee shot and the approach. To open up the best angle into the green, golfers must bravely challenge the water hazard off the tee.
