Course Overview

The world-class, Nicklaus-designed Grand Phnom Penh Golf Club is widely acclaimed as one of the best premier golf courses in the capital region of Cambodia. Designed by the globally renowned Nicklaus Design firm, the course serves as the central masterpiece of the exclusive Grand Phnom Penh International City mega-township development, offering an unrivaled playing experience for international golf travelers visiting Phnom Penh.

Impeccable Conditioning

Maintained to the immaculate standards expected of a Nicklaus layout, the tees, fairways, and greens are kept in flawless condition year-round. The integration of premium Paspalum turf ensures excellent, consistent playing surfaces that withstand the tropical climate while providing pristine ball-striking conditions.

The Phnom Penh layout serves as a fair but engaging test of golf, demanding thoughtful strategy and smart shot placement on every single hole. While the strategically located waste bunkers and expansive water hazards are tricky, they are clearly visible from each tee box. The greens feature plenty of subtle undulations, rewarding and encouraging a diverse variety of approach shots. Daily pin positions can moderate the difficulty of each hố—ranging from friendly to highly challenging—while various tee box locations allow both low and mid-handicappers to choose the ideal course length for their game.

The Thrilling Final Three

The final three holes make up some of the most challenging, dramatic, and fun closing stretches on the entire course:

• Hole 16 (Par 5 - 558 Yards): A true risk-reward long hole that demands placement over distance. The distinct angle of the fairway layout, combined with lateral bunkers tightly guarding the landing areas, poses a massive challenge for those attempting to reach the green efficiently. A cautious second-shot lay-up sets up a demanding short iron approach over sand into a well-guarded green.
• Hole 17 (Par 3): A scenic par 3 that plays directly to a wide green heavily guarded by water and penal greenside bunkering. Accurate club selection is critical here, as the wind sweeping across the open layout can dramatically impact ball flight and demand an exceptionally well-struck tee shot.
• Hole 18 (Par 4 - 456 Yards): A spectacular finishing hole and a true signature design that guarantees dramatic finishes. The layout presents a challenging test with water running entirely down the left side, heavily impacting both the tee shot and the approach. To open up the best angle into the well-protected island green, golfers must bravely challenge the line off the tee.
