Situated in the modern township of Lippo Karawaci, Imperial Klub Golf is a public course located 25 minutes from downtown Jakarta and 35 minutes from Soekarno-Hatta International Airport. Designed by famed British architect Desmond Muirhead, this demanding track stretches to over 7,200 yards from the championship tees. It holds a respected tournament pedigree, having hosted professional events such as the 2013 Jakarta Classic.

Unforgiving Architecture & Unique Layouts

True to Muirhead’s reputation for creating highly punishing, unconventional courses, every hole at Imperial Klub presents a highly individual, unforgettable strategic puzzle:

• The Island Sequences:

  • 4th Hole (Par 4): Features a rare island fairway that demands a 200-yard forced carry off the tee, followed by a long, high-stakes approach to an island green—a combination that becomes exceptionally tight when the wind kicks up.

  • 5th Hole (Par 3): A memorable 157-yard shot to an island green uniquely encircled by concentric rings of both sand and water.

• The Signature Closers: The 9th and 18th holes are grueling par 5s heavily flanked by large lakes. The 9th hole features water running along the entire left side from tee to green, narrowing the fairway significantly. Meanwhile, the high-stakes 18th can easily ruin a good scorecard with big numbers if approaches lack pinpoint accuracy.

Facilities & Club Operations

Player Insight: Because of its accessible location and highly competitive weekday rates, the course is exceptionally busy and often packed seven days a week.

• Clubhouse & Dining: The clubhouse is somewhat dated but offers panoramic views over the 18th green. Its restaurant features a diverse menu spanning Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, and Western dishes.

• Practice Areas & Service: The on-site driving range is available but suffers from poor maintenance. Guest service is primarily tailored toward local players, and while the all-smiling caddie corps is incredibly welcoming, their technical course knowledge can occasionally be hit-or-miss.
