Established in 1962 in the heart of Jakarta’s central business district, Senayan National Golf Club long suffered from a cramped, scruffy layout. However, a total transformation by Bob Moore of the JMP Group reimagined the 32-hectare site into a pristine, high-end urban oasis. Surrounded by Jakarta's towering skyscrapers, this lush sanctuary feels deceptively spacious and acts as a vibrant haven for local birdlife.

Compact, Precise Layout & Advanced Turf

The redesigned course trades its old native cow grass for premium Paspalum turf across the tees and fairways, paired with ultra-smooth Tifeagle Bermuda grass greens. Flat fairways have been replaced with dynamic earth mounding and undulations.

• Strategic Demands: Playing to a short par-69 at just 5,600 yards, the course prioritizes precise club selection and pinpoint accuracy over raw distance to navigate the mature trees lining the route.

• 1st Hole (Par 5, 540 yards): A narrow opening hole featuring a large lake flanking the left side. A tactical 3-wood off the tee is recommended over a driver to find the tight landing zone.

• Back-to-Back Par 3s:

  • 3rd Hole (175 yards): Requires a well-struck iron over a scenic pond to an elevated, front-to-back sloping green guarded by deep bunkers.

  • 4th Hole (140 yards): A short but treacherous target heavily protected by a massive fronting lake and two sand traps.

• 7th Hole (Signature Par 5, 428 yards): A remarkably short par-5 where players drive down a tight corridor of large oak trees aimed directly at a city skyscraper behind the green. While long hitters can reach it in two, a disciplined layup and short chip offer a highly reliable path to a birdie or par.

Player Freedom: Golf carts are completely optional at Senayan National, making it the perfect destination for players who prefer the traditional experience of walking a scenic, city-center course.

• Amenities: The modern, high-ceilinged clubhouse projects an exclusive country club atmosphere. It features a spacious second-level golfer’s terrace overlooking the fairways, clean and modern locker rooms, and a well-stocked pro shop.
