18 holes par 72 (7046 yards)
Set against a backdrop of jungle-clad hills and rolling countryside, Mission Hills Country Club is a scenic Kanchanaburi track. It is one of three Jack Nicklaus-designed Mission Hills properties in Thailand, alongside sister courses in Khao Yai and Phuket. The layout is carved into a gently sloping hillside near the River Kwai, with fairways lined by mature palm trees and heavily guarded by water, sand, dense trees, and Nicklaus' trademark waste bunkers.
This challenging course demands precision, and golfers will need to play exceptionally well to match their handicap.
Hazard Warning: Golfers must avoid the thick Bermuda grass surrounding the bunkers, as getting caught here frequently leads to double bogeys.
The Tees & Layout: To accommodate all skill levels, the course offers a choice of five well-spaced tee boxes. Five holes also feature split double fairways, giving players distinct options on how to approach the greens.
The layout's par 5s are among its strongest features:
8th Hole (Par 5): A long, heavily bunkered test down the left and center, contrasted by a beautiful stretch of water and reeds tracing the entire right side.
12th Hole (Par 5): Features a wide creek that splits the double fairway from tee to green, forcing players to commit to the left or right side while risking a water hazard.
17th Hole (Par 4): A strategically testing hole that forces a high-stakes approach shot onto an island green.
What to Expect: The property features a large, timber-clad clubhouse that is perfectly adequate for a post-round meal. However, the on-site resort accommodations are only average, meaning visiting golfers are better off staying elsewhere.
